Dr. Webb has curated exhibitions and written extensively about nineteenth and twentieth-century photographs made in Oceania and Africa by local and colonial artists including the work of Paul Wirz and Jacques Viot.

Edited by Virginia-Lee Webb and published by The Menil Collection and Yale University Press, was awarded the Prix International du Livre d’Art Tribal 2011 for the best English language book on Tribal art.
